It’s now official.  My dear friend, and alter-ego, Bob Mooney is organizing the blog meet-up that may end all blog meet-ups.  Or not.

The Event will be known as the “Midwest Mafia Milwaukee Meetup”.  You can just call it M4 if you want.  I do.

Milwaukee is Beer City, so I’m thinking some beer will be drank.  Some people may become drunk.  Food will be consumed.  Boobs may be flashed (fingers are crossed!)

M4 will take place on June 19th, 2010.  I plan to arrive there as early as possible on Friday to start enjoying all the joys of the city that is “Cooler By The Lake”.

The details are a little sketchy so far.  But here’s what I can tell you.

The event will most likely be held near General Mitchel International Airport (MKE).

I’ve secured a block of rooms at the Best Western Milwaukee Airport Hotel and Conference Center, located at 5105 S. Howell Avenue, directly across from the Airport.  They given us a special rate, and even thrown in one free drink per night.  Ask for the “M4 Blogger” room block to get the special rate of $69.00 per night. If you arriving on Thursday or staying over on Sunday, let me know so we can get you that rate for your entire stay.  There is a restaurant and lounge at this facility, and there are also several places within a block or two that look promising.  Two of them appear to offer Karaoke, so we’ll probably scope them out.

The drinks will be all YOUR favorites, because You get to buy your own!  Same with the food!  What a deal!

Here is the itenerary so far:

Saturday at around 3:30 or 4pm we will be heading to Miller Brewery for a tour.  This includes FREE BEER!

I’ve gotten us a 6pm reservation at the Top Secret restaurant.  However, there are only 24 people allowed in my group.  Once I have 24 people that want to go, I’m not putting anyone else on the list.  It will be up to you to secure your own table.  If we have more than 24 we’ll work out the details on that so somebody can make a reservation for the remaining people.

After dinner, we’ll head back to the Best Western, or someplace nearby.

I’m working on arranging transportation for anyone that’s interested.  So from 3:30 or so on, no worries about driving!  Except at the very end of the night to get back to the hotel, but I think we’ll be close enough to wander back there without any problems.  The service I have lined up can take up to 15 people in one vehicle, for $200.  If we have more (and we probably will), we will see about getting a second van or something for the overflow, and we’ll split the total bill by however many people we have.  If we end up with 24 people, that’s around $20 each including the drivers’ tips.
