It’s semi-officially official. My dear friend, and alter-ego, Bob Mooney is organizing the blog meet-up that may end all blog meet-ups.
The Event will be known as the “Midwest Mafia Milwaukee Meetup”. You can just call it M4 if you want. I do.
I don’t recall who came up with the term “Midwest Mafia” to describe the MOST AWESOME BLOGGERS ON EARTH, but that’s not important. Unless it was me, then its super important. But I don’t think it was me.
Anyway, the Midwest Mafia was a group of bloggers from the Midwest, obviously. It consisted of Nobody, Fantastagirl, Girl Scout Dropout and her husband, and Charm School Reject and her husband.
Somehow, we all ended up on Mr Fabulous’ deck during the ConFab, Baby event. We had people from Iowa, Wisconsin, and Illinois in this super cooler than you group, and being that Bob loves Milwaukee, and it was more or less equidistant for everyone, I said, “Hey, we should all get together in Milwaukee sometime”. Nobody likes going to Milwaukee.
And so it shall be. The Midwest Mafia is Meeting-up in Milwaukee.
There are no definite plans yet, except that Milwaukee is Beer City, so I’m thinking some beer will be drank. Some people may become drunk. Food will be consumed. Boobs may be flashed (fingers are crossed!)
I stole borrowed a dart from my kids and threw it at a calendar of next year. It landed on June 12th, 2010, which just so happens to be a fairly convenient date for me. Funny how that worked out in my favor like that. I plan to arrive there as early as possible on Friday to start enjoying all the joys of the city that is Cooler By The Lake.
With a little help from a Milwaukee local, a hotel with a restaurant, bar, and pool has been located. It even has some poolside rooms. And it’s inexpensive.
So far that’s all I know. If you’re a blogger, and you’re from the Midwest, or are bored enough to travel to the Midwest, you too could attend M4. There’s an M4 event page on Facebook. WOOHOO!! I’m so excited! Count me (and the hubs!) in!!
The good thing about planning far in advance is I can make sure I’m not broke then (unless I get laid off at work). The bad thing is, I don’t want to wait that long!!
But I’m looking for some interesting things to do, and I think I’ve found just the spot to go to party. But we’ll have to find the password to get into the place, they can be a bit exclusive at times. I’ll check out some of my mob connections there to hook me up.
I know the place you’re talking about!! Its supposed to really awesome. I’m not 100% sure where it is, but I know people who have been there and they loved it!

I’ll take that as a vote to go there! Somehow I never really heard about it until just before I moved away from Milwaukee. I’ve been wanting to go there ever since.

PS- if you didn’t read the book or see the movie “The Outsiders” my Ponyboy reference probably makes no sense and could be taken out of context, which if you do take it out of context could totally be funny.

I’ve seen the movie, but it was sooo long ago that the reference makes no sense to me… I just hope it doesn’t mean that I like to fuck pony’s, because I’ve really being trying to keep that on the down low.
